Pittsburgh
Steelers WR Plaxico Burress still thinks he can be a dominant force inside
the red zone, and I believe him.
At 35-years-old I think it’s safe to say that
his best days are behind him, but let’s not forget that the guy is 6 foot 5
which will make him a huge offensive target inside the red zone.
In his past two seasons in the NFL, Burress’s
numbers have gone down drastically, and like I said before, I believe his best
days are behind him; but I think that if he is used the right way inside the
red zone, that he can be very efficient this coming season.
As tall and big as he is defenders will have
no choice but to guard him tight, which could help free up other receivers. So, even if he isn’t scoring as many
touchdowns he can still be used as a valuable decoy. I think the Steelers will play it smart and
not use him too much going down the field, but inside the red zone, I think
they would be stupid not to use him. If
used correctly, I think Burress could have seven to 10 touchdowns this season.
I wouldn’t recommend you put him on your
fantasy team, but definitely look for Burress to have a good season with the
Steelers.
